    Your tasks

    Seeking an experienced and motivated Global Occupational Health & Safety Manager (m/f/d). The role is responsible to support the work in defining, governing, and developing the global framework and respective standards for Health & Safety in close collaboration with the Business Units and Functional Units to ensure the highest standards for safety standards will be maintained throughout the DB Schenker organization.

    Your tasks

    • Assist in the management, steering and coordination of the Global Health & Safety Program under the Global Management System SOP (acc. to ISO 45001 and relevant industry standards) and Global Health & Safety network
    • Ensure proper central tracking capabilities, reporting and monitoring of Health & Safety lagging & leading KPI's & Performance
    • Assist in Health & Safety implementation of standards, IT tools, projects, and specific Global customer requirements
    • Drive, support, and execute Health & Safety projects with internal & external partners to support and enable achievement of set Global Health & Safety targets
    • Make recommendations and submission of global reports to improve and enhance Health & Safety procedures, policies, measures, systems, and performance
    • Provide guidance and advise on Health & Safety matters to Management, Business Units & Health & Safety network and ensure a living safety culture
    • Support sales function and Health & Safety network on customer related requirements
    • Raise internal Health & Safety awareness through effective communication and supporting internal campaigns
    • Ensure that effective and adequate trainings are in place
    • Stay abreast of international safety regulations & standards and proactively develop external relationships and networks with relevancy to the Health & Safety strategy
    • Actively share best practices & lesson learned within the organization
    • Responsible for occupational safety for the head office building in Essen, Germany

    Requirements

    Your profile

    • Health & Safety expert with relevant degree (NEBOSH or equivalent preferred)
    • +5 years of relevant working experience in Health & Safety and proven track record in developing and implementing robust safety programs and fostering a safety culture, experience in the logistics and supply chain industry is a plus
    • Strong in-depth technical knowledge and experience of Health & Safety standards & regulations, ISO 45001 and Behaviour Based Safety
    • Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in using health and safety management software and tools. Good command in spoken and written English and German
    • Distinctive intercultural competency: able to communicate with all levels of the organisation, work as a team and build strong rapport and credibility with both internal & external stakeholders
    • Require hands-on approach, ablte to multi-task and work under time pressure
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365
    • Role may require travelling
