    Your tasks

    We are looking for you as a Sustainability Specialist (f/m/d) for our Head Office in Essen for a fixed term contract for 18 months.

    Your tasks:

    • Ensure a organization wide sustainability awareness and enablement by developing and steering of the internal sustainability communications plan, as well as revision of internal and external communication pieces (website, intranet, newsletters, i.e.) and management of the company's sustainability community
    • Ensure enablement with Coordination, development, and implementation of sustainability trainings for DB Schenker employees worldwide, as well as tracking and boosting the completion rate
    • Alignment of internal and external campaigns and events that help bring visibility on sustainability as DB Schenker's business imperative
    • Design and moderation of virtual sessions to create transparency for global sustainability initiatives and an exchange of best practices within the organization
    • Creation and regular update of relevant sustainability documents and presentations for customers, and various stakeholders in alignment with the company's sustainability strategy
    • Support in integration, and implementation of DB Schenker's global sustainability strategy and roadmap ahead
    • Management of and cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., BUs, FUs, external partners, i.e.) to drive the company's strategic development, impact achievement and knowledge sharing
    • Ensure responsible sustainability communications by consulting the business on greenwashing regulations i.e. EU Green Claims Directive and support the preparation and publication of annual sustainability reports

    Requirements

    Your profile:

    • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability Science, Communications, Marketing, Environmental Science, or a related field with first experience in a similar role
    • Creativity in developing compelling and engaging sustainability stories with excellent content creation and development skills paired with personal interest in ESG
    • Practical knowledge of greenwashing regulations i.e. EU Green Claims Directive
    • Profound knowledge of the relevant Sustainability reporting frameworks and standards and like GRI, ESRS, IFRS, Knowledge of Adobe InDesign is a plus
    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences paired with advanced proficiency in MS PowerPoint
    • Strategic thinking and adaptability to changing trends in sustainability communication and science
    • Hands-on approach, able to multi-task and work under time pressure
