Location: Felixstowe

Hours: Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week (9:00-17:30 during training, with possible adjustment to 7:00-15:30 after, shared hours with other team members)

We are looking for an Intermodal Operator to join our Ocean Freight team in Felixstowe! In this role, you will manage the seamless coordination of import/export cargo, ensuring top-notch service for customers, overseas partners, and service providers. If you have a passion for logistics and enjoy problem-solving, this could be the perfect fit for you.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Overseeing the entire delivery process: from understanding customer needs, booking transport, and coordinating payments to ensuring successful final delivery.
• Monitoring rail and road deliveries daily, ensuring everything runs smoothly and that deliveries are completed on time.
• Striving to maximise potential profits while maintaining customer satisfaction and addressing any accounting issues.
• Handling queries and complaints efficiently and escalating unresolved issues to the department head.
• Reporting any file that risks a loss or a significant profit reduction to the manager.
• Documenting every step of the delivery process accurately for full transparency and accountability.

About You:

• Previous experience in freight forwarding is highly advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills are a must.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage high workloads, especially in challenging situations.
• Capable of making consistent, well-considered decisions.
• Fast and accurate with data entry.
