    Your tasks

    At Schenker International S.A. de C.V. we are looking for an Application Support Specialist to be part of our IT team, for our office in Guadalajara, Mexico, who will be responsible for support and operations of application services (2nd Level Support) and supporting the integration platforms.

    What will be your challenges?

    • Work on all requests, incidents and subsequent problems either detected by pro-active monitoring or being reported by a customer / Schenker employee on the integration platforms.
    • Ensures that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures.
    • Execution of pro-active system monitoring of all the integration applications, e.g. for EDI and data transmission monitoring of inbound and outbound messages, using various monitoring tools.
    • Handling of incidents handling, using Service Now, in various Support Groups and according to agreed procedures:
      1. problem identification and prioritization
      2. Investigates causes of incidents and seeks resolution
      3. Escalates unresolved incidents
      4. Facilitates recovery, following resolution of incidents
      5. Documents and closes resolved incidents according to agreed procedures
    • Assists with the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures.
    • Maintain systems documentation, working files, SOP's, for all supported applications.
    • Maintains application support processes, uses application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create reports.
    • Configuration of software parameters to meet business requirements by using the existing data.
    • Some weekend shifts might be required; not on a regular basis.

    Requirements

    What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)

    • Bachelor or above Degree in IT related majors or equivalent experience.
    • At least 2 years' experience in the area of supporting is highly preferred.
    • Knowledgeable with Schenker tools and processes is a plus.
    • Knowledge in ANSI X.12 / EDIFACT Standards / popular EDI tools is a plus.
    • Technical skills in http, ftp and AS2 is a plus.
    • Excellent English communication skill in reading / writing / listening / speaking.
    • Logistics / Freight Forwarding knowledge is a plus.
    • Windows, UNIX, Remote Connectivity.
